There is train connections are all around Taiwan. It is the cheapest and easiest way to travel around Taiwan. You can make a loop around the island and stop in the main cities and point of interest in 10 days but 2 or 3 weeks would be most appropriate. Train ticket can be booked online in advance and picked-up the travelling day at the train station counter. This would allow you to plan your itinerary in advance and be sure your seat is reserved for the time you want to travel.

The Central countryside of Taiwain, is more difficult to reach, it would takes few hours to reach by bus. Day(s) tours are organized from different area and hotel.

The South East of Taiwan

Hualien is the closest city of Taroko Gorge, the starting point to start your hiking adventure in the mountain. There is accommodations and train stop in both area. Amazing cheap dumplings to taste


Taitung is the 2nd city on the East coast; this area is a bit hilly with hippie’s village, really good atmosphere and good vibe.
