Travelling by bus from one city to another city in Central America is very slow.

  • The local bus, would be your cheapest option.
  • There is some shuttle bus available
  • Crossing the border by foot in Central America can be a bit tricky if you are not used to as in Asia, you need to find your way around yourself and keep in mind a few advice! Depending on the situation, the people that you meet (border guards…). You will need to
    • Enter a room to check your luggage,
    • get a stamp first to exit the country, but
    • Don’t forget to find the building to enter the next country, the border is not connected, so actually, you can walk in clandestine.

Boquette

Boquete is a perfect area in the mountain to be in nature and do some activities. Not too warm, not too cold, not humid. One of the biggest city nearby where you can transit by bus is David. You do not need to book in advance for your bus ticket. Just ask some locals around you and they will indicate you the nearest stop.

  • Swim and dive in Los Cangilones de Gualaca in Chiriquí
  • Take a hot bath in Caldera Hot Springs you can get there by public tranport or book a tour
  • Go Rock Climbing the Los Ladrillos
  • Hike the Lost Waterfalls and go for a swim in the cascade

From Boquete, you can head to Costa Rica or Bocas del Toro Province or Panama City
